I have a friend of mine who i am attempting to help him do credit repair. he just told me yesterday he filed chapter 7 bk. I advised against this. He further tells me that a lot of the accounts were tossed on his fathers credit report as well, as they both have the same name. His fatehr is disputing the accounts. I told him that it is a safe bet that the credit bureau will reflect the BK on his dads report as well. at least i assume that they will. Some of the accounts he told me he opened in his faters name, but used without dads knowledge. This reflects on the reports as well as being paid as agreed. He is just wondering if he can get in any trouble, or will the BK take care of everything for him.

confusing, yes. I am very confused on this one.

He committed fraud and yes, he can get in a lot of trouble if his father chooses to press charges against him. Since the accounts were opened in his father's name (and social security #) I don't think they will be included under BK. They have the same names, but not the same SSNs and it happens to be the son that is filing. The father is going to be held responsible for the accounts that the son opened in his name, unless he presses charges. No amount of disputing will erase that.
