I was trying to find some addresses and info about some of the OC's and CA's I'm going to be dealing with, so I went to the BBB website and searched for each company. After pulling up the CA/OC in question, they also list some other information: such as other management personnel. I'm wondering if having these Managers names available might help with removing derogs from your report. Wouldn't these managers be in a position, if contacted, to remove information that their company reps say they can't remove? I mean I can call or write to these companies all month long, and talk to someone different each time, with different results. But what if you kept contacting someone in management and say you got their name from a rep. Wouldn't they get tired of dealing with you too...they, I'm sure, have better things to worry about. Do you think you would get better results going directly to these managers? Just a thought
It may depend on the fact that you can prove they are in violation of the FDCPA. I used the BBB against RMA with great sucess.
I see what you're saying, I was just wondering, instead of filing a complaint...sending my correspondences directly to the management of these CA's. Sorry if I was a little confusing...
I was thinking about complaining to the bbb about a OC I am dealing with as well. I have looked all over the national and local bbb and found nothing on them, they do not have the company on file. Should that make a difference? Would my complaint create a file for this OC?
Good question Queen, I wish I had an answer, but I have a couple like that also. I guess it wouldn't hurt to try. I noticed something yesterday. I recieved my TU report. Entered their name and address I recieved from the report... Chester, PA. Comes back as Trans Union National Disclosure Center. Unable to classify and no complete report. Now I don't know exactly if this is the main division of TU, but since I recieve my reports from that address, it would be the one I would complain to. Kinda interesting.
The BBB worked with me for a very stubborn CA. I had tried a number of things including an ITS w/o success. When I filed a BBB complaint within 2 days the account was gone. I guess it was the straw that broke the camels back so to speak!
The local affilate was able to pull both CAs I am having trouble with. The second one I still have a few steps with before I file the complaint. Hopefully it will work as well as the first one. I believe you have to keep pounding these guys until they realize it will be much easier to give up than keep fighting.
