I need some help on how to get an item off my credit report. My job has me relocating alot and during the move, we forgot to close a utility account. This is something we just overlooked and put aside. However, the account hit my credit report. Once it hit, I contacted the service company and paid in full. It has been on my report less than 60 days, yet they will not remove it from report. Is there anything I can do about this ??? The account is paid in full .... Sincerely Sad, Tsunami
I had some late payments with my utility company (Niagara Mohawk) on one of my credit reports. I disputed with the CRA as never late and apparently Niagara Mohawk never responded and the account went to never late. I got behind with the utility again, and they put more lates on my credit report and I again disputed as never late and again the late payments went away. I don't know who your utility company is, but you may get lucky like this. HTH, Brett
On my report the utility account shows up as an installment account with a $0 balance and a $0 high credit. It also has the notation "Utility". I don't know if this would work or not. Frankly, right now on my report it's showing up as a positive tradeline from 1999 and I'm happy to have it adding to my history and positive accounts. As before, my advice is to dispute as never late, but a simple not mine might get rid of it if that's what you're after. Good luck, Brett
Re: Re: Utility bill, whats that about???? With F.I.C.O. giving MORE credit for ONE INQUIRY than ZERO...do you really "THINK" that "UTILITY" is helping much??? I don't have any listed...so I don't know if they HELP any...
Re: Re: Re: Utility bill, whats that about???? Honestly... I don't know, but I figure it's a positive tradeline, so it can't hurt. Then again, with FICO... who knows. Right now most of my tradelines have at least one late payment, so I figure every TL I can get with no lates is an improvement. Brett
