I went to court last week and had a confess of judgement agaist me, because I agreed to payment arangements before court. I showed up to court but the creditor didn't show up, I wanted to ask the judge to have the case dismissed but before I had the chance to he stood up and said he passed this case and will be back in 10 min wanted to know why their attorney didn't show up. 10 min later he called us again and a local attorney was there. wasn't even the attorney on the court paper work they were from another county. was the judge out of line or is this proper procedure? also he never stated about me owing any attorney's fees or interest but the creditor has been charging me them for 2 mo's before the hearing, 2mo's becuase the hearing was delayed because their attorney couldn't make it to the first one, i lost a day of work then because i wasn'r notified. thanks
Oh yes the essence of creditors rather ample asses, from 30% interest rates. To know them is to loathe them.
One time I had to go into a pre trial conference. The judge oogled the blonde bimbo lawyer, looked at me and said why don't you just pay it as you are going to have to eventually and then said to the lawyer that he would give her more time to come up with paperwork. I told the judge I did not appreciate his comment, I was there ready to proceed with my case, and that I wanted a court reporter to be taking notes. It was amazing how things did a quick turn around. BTW I won the case: ) Woofer
This happened to me a couple of years ago. I showed up just like I was supposed to, the company who was sueing me was a no show. I thought "Great, it will be dismissed if they didn't even send a representative!" Wrong!!! The judge put it on the docket for the next month to give them another chance. Burned my butt! You can bet if the situation was reversed, I'd have had a judgement slapped against me in a heartbeat.
