I HAVE A JUDGEMENT ON MY CREDIT REPORT THAT WAS PAID OFF BEFORE THE COURT DATE BUT THE DISCHARGE DID NOT GO INTO EFFECT UNTIL SOME 6 MONTHS LATER..IT IS NOW ON THE REPORT AS BEING SATISFATED..BUT I WANT IT REMOVED ALTOGETHER...IS THERE ANY WAY TO VACATE IT...AND IF SO HOW DO I DO THIS... THANKS

I had a very similar situation, paid a lawyer to get it vacated. That's the easiest way. If you want to do it yourself, I have the paperwork (Virginia, but I bet they are all about the same) in my yahoo briefcase http://briefcase.yahoo.com/serenitybreeze I think it's in the "credit" folder, but the name of the sub-folder it is in is "judgment." My lawyer got the other lawyer to sign a joint petition to vacate. The only thing missing is a copy of the letter he sent the other lawyer, but that is a piece of cake.
Hmm wish I knew how to do it. We had a judgement from a house that went into foreclosure. The house sold for about $7,000 more than what we bought it for because it was a steal. This was like 2 1/2 years ago so is there any way to get rid of it?
Don't forget to try removing the Previous Address from your credit reports that corresponds to the address youwere living at when judgment was obtained. Then dispute the judgment. The CRA's have to match 2 of 3 of: name, social sec. #, address. I learned about this on creditnet, and have now had a satisfied judgment removed from 2 of 3 reports (still working on the 3rd).
