I am a little green but now I really feel green.

I just read that OC's do not have to validate? IS this correct?

I just mailed off 4 Validation letters to OC's which were all Credit card charge offs from 2 - 4 years back. None of the balances were over 1,200.

What is our recourse against OC's if I have already disputed with CRA's and the tradeline came back verified?

Please help. This is the first time I have had to call on the group for some assistance.

    Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Forgive me for being so ignorant but where are the top 3 posts?

    Thanks LHK....

I always enjoy reading your posts, Butch's and those of Doc and other board VETS.

Until now I had searched effortlessly for the FAQ's Section and you have just managed to point it out to me... I have began to read with regard to disputing OC's and am getting much more of a grasp...from the looks of it...sending a validation letter follows protocal... I just need to ensure that I dispute with the CRA once I receive the Green Card :) and apply Nutcase, Estoppel and/or ITS as needed dependent upon responses.

Thanks for helping out a newbie.

    They are called Intro. threads.
They are found at the top of each page that list the threads for that page.

    Question LKH...

If I dispute with CRA after receiving Green Card then how can I prove a violation presuming the OC would have never notified the CRA that I have disputed the tradeline to begin with? It seems like a catch 22.

You want to lock the OC into a 30 day window but at the same time wouldn't it be easier to get a violation by the OC's not reporting the item as disputed?

    Sorry to be a pain...

How does disputing with the CRA lock in the OC?

Doesn't the CRA's notation of "consumer disputes - reinvestigation in progress" get the OC off the hook for their own failure to note as "in dispute"?

The only OC that seems to consistently honor the "in dispute" notation is Citibank. I never see it from Chase, MBNA, etc.
