    Hello,

I have recently disputed some items on my report BEFORE finding this site unfortunately. I have read the thread "validation/dispute sequence" and realized it did it wrong. My question is:

Should I just wait and let the original creditor and/or collection agency verify with CRA, hope a few drop off, then re-disput with the preferred validation/dispute sequence?

SOL: In California the SOL is 3 years. What is the best way to approach a debt older than three years that is still being reported?

    Thanks!

You can wait and see if the dispute clears the TL from the report first, and if it doesn't, then you can take the validation/dispute route.

As for the SOL, the approach is still the same, validation/dispute. The thing here is that the CA can't try to sue you over this anymore, so that takes some of the teeth out of their mouth, but they could still report it negatively until the 7 year reporting period is up.
