I am composing my validation letters now and intend to send them certified tomorrow. What happens then? What if the collection agency ignores me? If they ignore my letters what else is there to do? I am not sure how this whole validation process works and would like advice on where to go now.

Make sure you get your return receipts , I have also started sending them priority mail with delivery confirmation. If they continue to ignore your requests that is good because they are violating the FDCPA. Then you have leverage on them. Then if they are still reporting you after they have received your letter, another violation,, paper trail is sooooo important!

    Just my 2 cents:)

But, now really, what can happen if they ignore you? It does not seem like that would be a reason to get the cra's to delete the information, that is all I am interested in.

Heather, do as Cypri says. IF they ignore you, you can get the items deleted on a "technicality". Do you understand? But to do so you have to have the paper trail and most importantly, the certified return receipt to prove it.
