I got a call from a CA about a debt from 1992. THey claim I owe some money to a credit card issuer that is no longer business since they were bought by another bank. They claim they couldn't find my correct address all this time. They said there was also some confusion about my SSN, so now they want me to pay. I said I don't recall this account but I am also aware that SOL in the state is 6 years and long past.

Should I send them a validation letter or SOL letter? If the CA or original creditor couldn't find me, is the SOL invalid? I would think not.

    Hi Pcotten,

My guess is they've already dropped the issue.
