Hi. I need to write a validation letter to a collection agency and wonder how I should word it. There are sample validation letters on the forum but they are intended to be addressed to the original creditor. Should I just keep the wording the same but leave out the creditor disclosure statement (since they are obviously not the original creditor) and that should be fine, or no? Any thoughts on this or how I should word a subsequent letter to a CA would be much appreciated. Thanks!
i agree, i would just alter the sample DV letter to fit your situation. stupid newbie moment when i started out - i mailed a CRA dispute letter to a CA. bet they laughed pretty good over that one. so as a side note - remember to proof read your letter several times before sending it and better yet have someone else read it!
