I sent a validation letter to some creditors. Two of the creditors called me back asking me, what did I need. WTF? Now the letter states clearly what I need from them. I got the validation letter from this board and I know it worksâ?¦..Soâ?¦. My question is, do I have to call the creditors/collection agencies back in order for them to respond to my validation letter? If they do not respond with in 30 days, how do I prove this to the credit bureaus? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Do not call them back. Actually, you do not want them to respond. If they don't respond that usually means they have no proof of the debt. The way you prove it to the cra's is to give them a copy of the letter you sent to the cra and a copy of the certified mail receipt showing when and who signed for your letter. If you didn't send it certified, return receipt requested, you have no proof.
did you send in the form that outlines what you need? If they have this I think you do not really have to respond to them by phone. If you have sent in the form that outlines what you need for validation and told them to send it back via mail, they know what you need and are trying to pull a fast one. any members have any other suggestions or thoughts?
Thanks a lot. I did send the mail certified return receipt. So I just make a copy of the certified return receipt and the letter I sent to the company, explaining to the CRA that they never responded, and this will indeed remove the account off my report? Unbelievable! If so I will do just that!
There is no guarantee that the cra will remove it, however, the FCRA says the cra's must take into consideration any proof of a creditors claim that they receive. I just sent in a dispute letter this week with copies of 3 letters I sent to a ca along with copies of 3 certified mail receipts. Give me a little time here and I will post the letter I sent the cra this week.
Yes, as a matter of fact I did send it out-lined what I need and to mail it back. Here is an example of what I sent. I didn't get the a nasty response, just a call asking what did I need from them, and one lady called asking me to call her so we could discuss what I needed and to settle. I am not doing any of it. If they don't respond, I hope the CRA's will delete these accounts. I have disputed 6 credit cards, only 2 got deleted from Experian and Equifax. Trans Union is giving me a hard time, as a matter of fact I don't even think Trans Union verified anything. Lazy people. This is a job in itself and hopefully this go around I can get the other 4 deleted off my report as well.
Thank you.... I am not calling, they know what I want, it is spelled out in plain English. I will however wait 30 days and right the CRA to see what can be done.... You guys are GREAT!

I never said it was guaranteed. What will happen when you send in your proof is they will most likely reinvestigate. But they will make the creditor validate it to them. If they can't it will come off. This is from one of the managers at experian. Yes, I posted my letter. Actually, pbm added it to the letter section.
