    Hi,
After my previous post with no responses, I decided to type up validation letters, and I have just a couple of questions.

    1. Do I include OC information such as account # or balance owed?
    2. Do I sign the letter?

Thanks so much! This site is absolutely awesome! I can't believe that people spend so much money on other sites for the same information. The BIG difference is that all of you guys really work together to help each other out...I love it!

    Thanks again,
    Meranda

On my VL's I put the account number from my credit report and the OC's name on the reference line
"Re: Account number 12345XXX, AnyCompany, Inc."

As for a signature, I typed my name and scribbled my initials.

The first CA that i am sending the letter to has 2149... under account number. There is no complete account number and the partial account number doesn't match the OC's account number at all....Strange?

Should I send Validation Letters to OC's reported as charged off or written off accounts?

Are you disputing these accounts based on letters that were mailed to you or are you disputing based on what your credit report says?

I would dispute with the CRA's first, then if they come back verified as yours, then send the validation letters to the CA's (dispute with whoever is reporting the tradeline on your CR)

The info comes from my CR. I have disputed with CRA....awaiting validation from them. Should I send validation letter to CA while waiting on response from CRA?

    Boy that soup was good.

I would not. Wait until the CRA come back.

Have you downloaded all the letters?

Take time to study them and edit to your liking.

You can pre type them and save in word file
so all you have to do is fill in the CA name and address ,OC name and Account No.

Doing something is better than nothing!!

This is not strange..it happens all the time this way
When and if they send you validation and the account number does not match anything your response to them is "sorry, but I do not recognize an account with this number Please provide the full information you have concerning it"

OC's are not required to follow the rules in the FDCPA and thus do not have to provide validation
Exception: some state consumer laws do make such provision...you would have to check the law for your state

You dispute with the CRA, validate with the CA
You have reversed the usual order that everyone here practices - that is - validate first with CA, waith 30 days and then if no validation received, dispute with the CRA

    Re: Re: Validation Letter

PD count me in on reversing the process- it worked the first time I did it.
