I had a collection account from 1996 that was sold to North Shore Agency recently. I sent them the validation letter on July 21. Today I received a letter from them stating as follows: Dear LKH, Thank you for taking the time to write to us about your account with OSI Collection Services, Inc. In light of the information provided, we are stopping further collection activity and closing theis account on the files of North Shore Agency. Furthermore, be assured that North Shore Agency has not taken any measures intended to adversely affect your credit file. Our files are updated on a regular basis. An additional collection notice from us may have been processed before the account was closed on our files. If one is received, you may disregard it or return it to us with a brief explanation. On behalf of both this company and our client, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience experienced in this matter. Sincerely, North Shore Agency How about that? Got 'em!
Congrats! I thought OSI was Gulf State. I sent a validation letter back in April and the CA never responded. I guess they move on to people who they hope will just get worried and send them money with no proof.
Congrats, LKH. Hey, could you post a copy of your validation letter? I'm sure lots of people here would appreciate it,
I used the standard 2 page Lizard King special. I can't believe how easy it was and how quickly it worked. It will be 2 weeks tomorrow that I sent it out. Here it is again, the original unchanged letter that Lizard posted here months ago. date Name of collection agency address city state zip Re: Acct # 0000-0000-0000-0000 to Whom It May Concern: This letter is being sent to you in response to your attached letter.
