I have a supposed debt that is owned by supposed OC. Debt is not charged off. Received letter from CA, I sent validation letter, over thirty days and no validation response, but they sent another letter requesting payment (continued collection activity without validating). I received a letter over the weekend from a different CA attempting to collect on this supposed debt

    Debt is well within SOL.

Looking for opinions on tackling first CA and should a basic validation letter be sent to second CA.....or should a validation letter be sent to second CA to include reference to first CA not validating?

Is CA #1 reporting on your cr?

CA #2 - I would send Butch's subsequent CA strategy letter - its in the sample letter forum.

CA is not reporting, just the OC

    Re: Re: Validation question,

Ok, then I wouldn't worry about CA 1. You've sent them the validation letter, so if they report it, you have them by the short hairs.

Sounds like they can't validate, so they have moved it to another CA to see if they can browbeat you into paying it. (This is just a hunch). Send Butch's letter, and as LKH recommends, send notice to the OC too.

Please let us know what happens, this letter is unchartered territory.
