"In order to provide you with documentation on account XXXXXXXXX, you will need to provide us with a request in writing, with a copy of your social security card and driver's license. You can send this to Sterling Inc., Atten: B.A. Dept., 375 Ghent Rd., Akron, Ohio 44333. If, you have any questions, you can contact us at 1-800-877-8841. Thank you, Special Accounts" Sounds like they are asking for more than I need to provide to them, doesn't it?
Yep! They should have this already! Maybe they are trying to be certain that it's you. However, I wouldn't trust them!
This is what they claim - "We do not release any documentation without proof of signature. Your social security card or driver's license provides us that proof. Any information that is on your I.D.'s would already have been provided to us when you filled out your application. The proof of signature is for protection of the customer. We do not want to release documentation to someone other than the customer. Special Accounts " How would you respond??????
They didn't have any trouble sending you collection notices or dinging your credit report without getting your proof of ID, right? Hmmm...
