CA responded to request for validation with forms for a fraud investigation requesting us to fill them out, sign, notorize and return. How should we respond? I am thinking ignore the forms, request validation again, with a cease a desist clause. Any thoughts?
Is that providing you with the information you would need to dispute the debt or any part thereof? I don't think so. Is that proof that you owe the debt? I don't think so. So you demanded validation of the debt which was your right to do and they violated both the law and your rights under the law. I'd tell them I was going to sue them for violation of FDCPA and my rights and let them figure out how to get out of the mess they created for themselves. I am thinking ignore the forms, request validation again, with a cease a desist clause.[/quote]Cease & Desist isn't going to do you any good. What you need is a good lawyer to take the case on a fee contingency basis but don't ask me where you can find one of them things. Not many good lawyers around when it comes to consumer affairs.
Fill them out, sign, return. mitchra =============================== Never never ever give them a copy of your signature for them to forge.
