I had received a letter from Arrow Financial regarding an old bank acct that had gone into C/O. I sent a DV letter to them via Fed Ex, but Fed Ex managed to lose the letter, which I didn't discover untill today (which was the last day of the 30 day time frame). So I went back to Fed Ex, re-sent it signature required, and also faxed it in to them. I didn't know if mail box law would apply here. Also, below is in a nut shell what I said to them. Is this sufficient?

I dispute the validity of this debt in total and request validation as afforded to me per federal law. Please provide me with the name, address, and any othe information that I am entitled to legally regarding this debt including all appropriate dates of deliquency and the method used to obtain the total balance due in addition to any applicable proof that I am responsible for the alleged debt. Don't contact me regarding this debt except by mail at the address above . Please provide this information within the required 30 day time frame.

This is an acceptable request letter. It is best to keep it simple and to the point. Be aware that they are not legally required to respond, but if they do not provide validation, then they are requied to discontinue collections efforts.

They are not required to respond at all and not within 30 days either.
