Has anyone had success with sending validation letters? Do they usually ignore or remove? Any experience any of you have to share would be appreciated. I just sent out several and was wondering what I'm in for here.

I sent out several in January and all have either ignored or sent me collection letters back (violation).

I spoke with the CRA's and all told me that letter and copies of the CRRR was not enough to get them to remove. I have now filed complaints with the FTC and State Attorney Generals where they are located and in my State.

If that does not get them removed I will file suit against each collection company and CRA. I recommend building a paper trail and I don't expect any of them to do what they are legally required to do. Apparently the law does not apply to them, or so they think.

The Attorney Generals offices seem to be somewhat helpfull. I'm waiting to see what happens with them. I have a good paper trail to go into court with though if they aren't removed.

It is amazing with all the fines imposed on the CRA's that they do not follow the FCRA more closely. I guess they have plenty of money to pay out fines or they don't take you servious until you file. They just don't seem to care otherwise.

Did you send a demand letter with all your copies to the CRA or did you just phone them?

I just phoned the CRA's, but also sent a demand after talking with them. I have a good paper trail with these collection companies of not owing this money so I went ahead and filed with the States Attorney General offices now. They had not cooperated up to now so I did not expect them to in the future. I want to make sure when they are removed they never come back on the reports so I'm not trying to "just" get them deleted, rather I want these gone forever. I do not owe for these items and have proof of it.

One of these collection companies was even advised by the original creditor that this money was not owed and they had made a mistake. The collection company then verified it as correct with the cra's after being told it was an error by the creditor. I have them on about 5 violations now and if they don't cave to the Attorney General's office I will file suit with the violations, and the fact I gave them a chance to follow the law when the Attorney General contacts them. I just figured it would look better to the Judge hearing the case because this is one I will not accept settlement on.

I hope they ignore the Attorney General also. I really want to sue these people. I'm in the paper building and case building process now. Getting my ducks in a row so to speak. I just started in January with these so it is still early.

I guess these are a little bit different in that I'm not looking for only deletion from the cra's at this point. I'm looking to make these crooked bastards pay me money.
