Re: this is a test Size never goes beyond a 5 or a 6 even in html coding. That would be huge indeed. And no, bold don't seem to work here either. and images don't seem to work here either. I am quite sure that there are quite a few more that don't work here but do on some other boards. Maybe we can get PBM to teach us about a few more and how to make them work I only know a few and would like to learn some more too. And maybe PBM will consent to turn on the ones that might be available that are obviously not enabled. I feel fairly confident that he can do that. I'll hit the alert button on this message when I submit it and let him know we would appreciate his input and maybe teaching in this matter.
Re: this is a test I am too new to this computor stuff to figure out color codes so I guess I'll be staying with boring old black lettering
Re: this is a test Just hit the QUOTE button on Bill's original post and it will reveal all the codes you are looking for...When done simply hit the BACK button so you don't post the message. -Dave
mindblower I'm always blowing sombody's mind, aren't I? Oh well, gotta get some fun out of life somehow This ought to get some color in the game
Re: mindblower I don't know for sure in vb. In html it's about a 7 I can't get the size attribute nor the bold attributes to work at all on this board. Maybe PBM will come on a bit later and either tell us how to get that working, or maybe he will turn them on for us. All the ALT-keypad codes have to work too. I know that Anthony knows how to turn a few on too because I have seen him do it. I guess I need to go back and see how he got them to work. I will do that in just a moment and if I can get it figured out and make it work, I'll start using some of those too. There are 255 characters in the ascii character set and I'm ALMOST willing to bet they can all be used.
Re: mindblower I went back over some things and didn't come up with ahything new. I've got another source to go look up some things too.
Re: this is a test vB code is enabled on this board, HTML code is disabled in all cases. You can get a list of vB codes by following the link which appears immediately to the left of the message input box when you post a message or reply (look for the text You can use vB code in your message.) Clicking on that link brings up a page which discusses vB code options. In addition to these, it appears that Bill Bauer and others have discovered alternate codes to use for color and font sizing. While not specifically mentioned in the vB code faq page these are valid tags and available for your use. However, we find the use of multiple colors in the message base a disservice as the multiplicity of colors and font styles make the messages light up like a Christmas tree and the content much more difficult to peruse. Beyond those mentioned in the vB faq as well as in this thread, we are not aware of any other vB codes you can use. If you feel like you're missing a feature or an option, please let us know by posting in the "Feedback" forum. Thanks for your cooperation. Sincerely, pbm
