Venting on Emerge customer service

    Gotta vent... last week I called Emerge (company handling my closed C.C.) and I wanted to know my DUE DATE for my next payment. They ended up asking me I believe EVERY BIT OF INFORMATION u could think of. I'd bet everything they asked was on my original application with the C.C. company. Made me so mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    I ended up hanging up twice on them, the third time I asked for a supervisor or someone higher up and she said there was NO ONE else!! OH I suppose she was the owner of the company then. I hung up again and fired off a letter to them, letting them know how dumb it was and all, and I expect to be transferring my money from them to someone else in the next couple weeks. thank for listening.

    I too had problems with eMerge asking too many questions and not giving me tha same APR as my previous card, so I paid the balance off and closed the account. But they reported an outstanding balance to the CRA's. I called to correct this and they kept asking me for information. Some info I JUST DON'T GIVE TO ANYONE! The lady said "we have that info, we're just confirming it". I told her good try, but that info has NEVER been given to anyone (it was my job - a new job at that). After some hassle, I finally got the accounts reported correctly as closed on my credit reports. Finally! These people need a class on customer satisfaction. Getting through their phone maze is disgusting.

    AHA. This is a trick question. Emerge has no customer service(to speak of that is).

    this is because emerge outsources their cust svc to another country

    I had a really hard time when I was first switched to emerge. Received notification and statement from them 3 days before my due date. Since they are not online I knew my payment would be received late and I refuse to pay late charges that are not my fault. I called the CS department and the guy said that he could not help me. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he said that there were none working on that shift!!! I ended up in a yelling match with him and just hung up. But......they did not charge me a late fee!! Their CS department seriously needs some help.

    I guess during the questioning I THOUGHT "this will be the last one" I mean they asked me the "for security reasons" question "mothers maiden name?" and I did give it, but the questions did keep coming. It's funny 'cause after writing my rant I went back and read the previous posts about Emerge and found out about the India connection. That was so funny because the lady(s) I kept talking to always did give me their name but I couldn't understand what it was. lol no wonder they sounded foreign!!!! My props to Clark Howard
