On a side note I am still disputing a 30 day late fee, my question is when one disputes something and the CRA contacts the bank to verify the claim, what exactly do the banks use to verify it. I mean i never paid a dime to this bank, which they claim I was 30 days late on account. So how can they verify a 30 days late charge on something I never paid anything to in the first place??

    RE: verification from creditor

I'm not sure, but I believe that the disputes are divided & assigned to a representative to investigate. They probably have a contact person at many companies who will check the disputed item. When I disputed items, some responses from the bureaus listed the name of the person who investigated my dispte. Hope this helps!
