A couple of years ago my husband was betting online on football with a company called Sports Interaction. Sports Interaction is located in Ireland (I think). His last bet he deposited funds with a check and the check didn't clear. The amount was for $100. We just got a letter in the mail from Americontinent Collect Company trying to collect the debt. My question is can they verify the debt since it's out of the country and happened online? I am going to dispute it. I'm just wondering if anyone has done this. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Go to http://www.gamblersrecover.com/about.html for information about off-shore gambling.

No, gambling debts from offshore- online sports betting are illegal and not collectable. However, that does not keep them from being reported on your credit report. Purchase of the e-book is worth it if you have substantial debt.

The legal doctrine is "Ex Turpi Causa", no cause of action may arise from something illegal or immoral. I would not shout about it though!
