I had never heard of PFB until I started reading this message board. I'm glad I did!!

About 4 months ago or so hubby got a new plan with with Verizon with 2 new cellphones on a promotional offer. A couple months later his phone wouldn't work right. A phone call to them, and they said OK we'll send you a new phone and a fedex box to send the old phone back. Got the new phone, sent the old one back. They started charging us $144 for the new phone.

Several phone calls and emails later, we get a recorded message saying call us. (two days ago) We did, they said you are late with your payment. A letter arrived too (same day). Again with the runaround. Long story short, I remembered PFB. I typed up a quick letter and boom, a phone call yesterday morning on the ans. machine (less than 24 hrs later). We weren't able to call back as we both work and don't get home until after 5pm.
Another phone call from them this morning, saying please call back we would like to resolve this. Hubby called them, they said some kind of screw-up on their end, their paperwork didn't match the phone we returned or some such thing. They credited our account the full amount which will appear on our next paper bill.

I realize this isn't quite a credit related matter, but it was very soon going to become one, as we were not going to pay for a replacement on a defective cellphone. A big thanks to all you knowledgable people on creditnet!

Glad to hear it worked for you.

I've always had good customer service from Verizon, but I've never had to return a phone.

When I had a problem while I was on vacation, I called customer service. They transferred me to several people, then had to call me back so I wasn't on hold so long. But they called back in like 10 minutes and the problem was quickly resolved.
