Just a note that seems to be more than just luck: Daughter disputed verizon charge (it was soon-to-be ex', not hers) and it was deleted easily. Her soon-to-be ex also had his deleted and he was just trying to get them updated to show included in BK. Then, today in my Verizon bill, I notice an announcement of a class action suit and the fact that customers before 4-02 would be receiving some form of compenation. Several other phone companies were mentioned. Anyway, I can't help but think the deletions were easy because of this problem. If you have a verizon issue, the time might be good to look into it. If this is old news, please forgive me for reposting. If it is new to anyone, hope this helps! (There, I covered all bases, didn't I?) LOL
Nana, Do you have a web site for the details? What was the lawsuit about? I need to nail these people too.
Butch, The pamphlet in my bill says you can obtain more detailed information, an opt out form, or a claim form (for Former Customers) at www.verizonwireless.com/settlement. There is also prerecorded information at 1-866-881-7170 toll free. It says you can also email Class Counsel but doesn't give an email. The case is Marcy Campbell, et al., Plaintiffs, vs. Airtouch Cellular and Cellco Partnership, doing business as Verizon Wireless, et al., Defendants. This includes: Verizon Wireless, Airtouch Cellular, Ameritech Cellular Services, Bell Atlantic Mobile, Bell Atlantic Nynex Mobile, GTE Wireless, Metro Mobile, Nynex Mobile, Primeco, Southwestco, Wireless Doing Business as Cellular One, Comm net, Frontier Cellular, or US West Cellular. Whoo! Glad to know this is helping someone!
