Verizon not deleting tradeline

I had a tradeline reporting to all 3 CRA's from Verizon as a charge-off of $59.00. I wrote asking for verification and they provided what amounted to pretty decent verifcation.

So then I wrote saying I would pay the $59.00 for full deletion of the items. I also stated that this wasn't an acceptance of the debt as mine just willingess to settle to remove the item.

They returned the letter signed. (All communication has been via CRRR).

Now after paying they are reporting "paid charge-off" (not hard to believe). I'm currently disputing with the CRA's but was starting to think about my next step if it comes back verified.

    Any ideas?

If your letter to Verizon offered the payment in exchange for deletion and they did agree to that by signing and returning the letter to you...then can't you take the letter to the CRA's and provide it as proof that it should be deleted?

Unless Verizon agreed to deletion in written form, you are out of luck. Simply writing the letter is not enough. You need to have a written agreement stating the terms of payment. If you had that letter, you could go to the CRAs if they verify and tell them that they agreed to delete.

W/O it, you will just have to dispute, see what happens and hope for the best :)

I do have a signed document from them saying they would delete if I paid.

I just didn't know if I could send a copy of that to the CRA saying delete because of this. I thought I would have to have Verizon tell them to delete.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

The CRA's will tell verizon not to agree to those.

After all the letters have been attempted you'll have to file suit.

    There's no other wya.

    Sorry
