It may be off topic here in the board but, Here I go...

I requested new phone service and was told that in 1995 there was a account opened in my name and SS#, for a sum over $500 ..at the time i was living at home an had no accounts at all with anyone and was above 18..
They said if this was a fraudulent acct than send us a doc from where you were and a statement ..notarized.
Did this and was told that i needed to send 2 proofs of residency ..like a bank statement or school record or a employment record..I had None from that period because i was not working & had no bank account or was employed..
I had asked them if i was notified of this mystery acct Thur my credit report than i would of dealt with it back then but i was not , and my home # and address has not changed since i was issued credit in 1994, so why has it not been reported on my report that i have received every year since '94..?

there answer was, it has no difference?

Anyone with a similar story with Verizon?

I'm not sure what your legal rights are, etc... hopefully somebody on the board would be better able to answer that question.

As far as proof of residency goes...

If you're a guy and were 18 at the time, you should have registered for the draft. Can you go to sss.gov and request a proof of registration card? That should have a date and address on it, I think.

    Medical/Medical Insurance records?

A vehicle registered in your name?
