I've had Verizon wireless service for the past six months and about half the time I find errors in their billings--always in Verizon's favor. If you have service with this company, make sure you check your bills. I've saved over $200 in just the past six months by calling customer service to complain about overcharges.

A couple of months ago, I found roaming and long distance charges on my bill when my plan includes free roaming and long distance.

Another time when I changed plans, I was hit with massive overbilling. Since I was going to the east coast for a couple of weeks, I changed to a national plan to avoid charges for calls placed from outside my home area but Verizon charged for the calls under the old plan after the change was effective. This wasn't corrected until after the billing cycle closed (which meant that an unpaid balance was carried forward), and I got hit with a late charge on the overcharge.

On this months' bill, Verizon charged an extra $35 by not giving me free weekend minutes as agreed. Instead these minutes were counted toward the 400 minute limit for my plan which triggered surcharges for excess usage.

The reps are pleasant enough and they have corrected every mistake I ever called about but this must be happening to others who may not be paying as much attention to it. Scrutinizing the bills is a very good idea. Not that this is much fun. They are eight or nine pages long replete with jargon and codes. The best thing to do is read the manual Verizon provides on how to read the bill. If you don't want to do that, hire a Ph.D. in mathematics to read it for you and give you a profesional opinion. Then hire a lawyer to explain the problem to customer service. After this, you get a 30 day vacation before you get to do it all over again.

what are you asking for in return?
every time ATT makes a mistake on my account or if I get bad service, I ask for something..

got 100 extra minutes per month for the life of the account free
got 15 percent more prime time free
got half the monthly bill credited I don't know how many times

make a bit of a fuss.. that is ridiculous!
