A former writer for Saturday Night Live -- who lost his job due to illness -- got into big trouble with his credit cards. He has taped the calls and now sells them on his website MikeTheDeadbeat.com for $12.99 a CD. Proceeds pay off his debts. At least this guy, unlike the woman from SaveKaryn.com, provides a product rather than straight-out begging. I bought his CD. (Well, I also donated to Karyn, for that matter, much to my wife's chagrin.) Here's a link to his site: http://www.mikethedeadbeat.com Here are a couple of audio FREE SAMPLES in MP3 format: 1) http://www.mikethedeadbeat.com/HooHah.MP3 2) http://www.mikethedeadbeat.com/neverhadashot.MP3 Enjoy! Good stuff. Reminds me of when I was younger and a lot more carefree. I had a CA call and their only threat to was that they would list the debt on my CRA report if I didn't pay. I let them know that my credit was already screwed up, and that I doubted if their entry would make any difference at this point, so go right ahead. I even challenged the guy with "is that all you've got?" when he told me that...Ah, to be young and dumb again ;-)
And now all the people that have had conversations like that with debt collectors are kicking themselves in the ass.
