A few months ago, the CA for ct farm and country sent me a post card, which I thought was a violation of the fdcpa. When I pointed this out to the women on the phone (whom I was directed by the postcard to call) she told me that her lawyers said it was ok, as long as it revealed nothing, but in reading the FDCPA, it only say they may not use a post card.

She also never identified herself as a debt collector. Any thoughts?

I'm not sure, I can only tell you that part of my lawsuit was based on the fact that a ca rep did reveal who he was during a phone call.

Maybe the same applies to the postcard- I thought correspendece from a ca had to contain that line about the info being used to collect a debt, and this is an attempt to collect a debt, or something like that.
