I am waiting for Validation from a CA, so on my CR they listed it "In Dispute" Now, the OC had my account listed as "Closed" for years, until TODAY! Apparently they re-opened the account and marked the OC TL as "In Dispute" as well. This has dropped my score by 15 points by just re-opening my account! Can they do this? Could they have also re-opened it since I just disputed both of these as "Not Mine" experian.com?
I "THINK" it is a GLITCH...I don't think a CA can open an account that they are just trying to collect on... NOT A COLLECTION EXPERT...
This has dropped my score by 15 points by just re-opening my account! WILLDOGS ================== I'd call this a CA double dinger. ding 1 ca listed on your report ding 2 new account listing. THE END ** *** ** LB 59
Try to charge on the account to see if it is really open. If it isn't why not sue the OC and CA for knowingly posting false info on your CRA file (FCRA 623a1A). The creditor should know whether the account is in fact open or closed. The 15 point drop in your FICO is the damages. Enjoy your $1000 check.
Re: Re: Violation? Does it matter if the OC is an un-paid charge-off from 1998? This un-paid charge-off has been sitting dormant for years with a zero balance and closed. Today it is OPEN with a remark of "Under Investigation" same remark the CA Tradeline has.
