Wallet accidently put through full wash and dry cycles! About 10 CC's in the wallet, all appear fine cosmetically -- will they still work, anyone else had this happpen???
I've never had it happen, but I think they might work. Magnets are the big enemy of the stripes on credit cards. Try one somewhere that you know they'll know how to input the number manually, be prepared to show ID (what kind of shape is your license in)?
Re: Re: Wallet Washed AND Dryed... Right. Don't ever get a magnet near credit cards. I had an experience that taught me this, but it wasn't a credit card. I was staying at a hotel that uses the cards with magnetic stripes like credit cards as keys. I had my key in my pocket. I was actually at a convention. Someone gave me one of the little refrigerator magnets. I stuck it in my pocket, not even thinking. I went back to the room with my roommate, who opened the door. Later, I went to the pool carrying nothing but a towel and my key. My roommate went out to dinner or something with some friends. When I got back to my room, the key wouldn't open the door. I went to the front desk and told them my key wouldn't work. I didn't even think about the magnet until later. I just knew that the key didn't work. Remember, I'm dripping all over the lobby because I have just been to the pool. They said no problem, they'd give me a new one if I showed ID. Duh, I've been at the pool. My ID is in my room. So I sat in the lobby, dripping, until another friend had pity on my and let me go to her room until my roommate came back and I could get my ID. Since then, I've been very careful about where I put magnets. Not near hotel room keys, credit cards, or disks.
