Hello, I want to open up a new checking account because last week wells fargo randomly f'd me over for about the 843rd time (this year!) and I'm sick and tired of them. I think I found who I want to go through, BECU(boeing employee credit union), and both emailed them and called them and asked the following question: -In opening a checking account with you, do you pull a hard inquiry on any of my credit reports- I'm in the process of buying a house, and have a couple borderline scores for the type of loan i want to get, and can't risk a pull even dropping me a couple points.... The lady I talked to on the phone said they don't, but the person who responded in the email said they use a system called Qualifile which uses CheckSystems and -he thinks- pulls your TU credit report. Anybody happen to know for sure what this Qualifile thing does? Thanks a lot!

Ugh..that's annoying.. no clue who to listen to there since I get different answers from different people..wouldn't mind waiting til' novermber if wells fargo hadn't pissed me off so much.
Its not a question of what the software is capable of, but rather, how they have the software configured. What you could do, is go to them ask that they put into writing that there will not be a hard inquiry, and if there is a hard inquiry on your credit report, after you've opened the account, ask that they complying with their word when you opened the account, request that the inquiry be softened.
