Most of you know that you can order a three-in-one CR through Equifax's web site sponsored by Intersections. Well I just had it confirmed today over the phone that both my husbands and my reports are listing the credit pull as a hard inquiry. Some Yahoo at Intercections said it was not but she was sooo wrong. So know i have to wait for them to send me a letter to send to Transunion which has all of my inquiry's anyway. I wish someone in my neck of the woods would use Equifax for once.
I had this problem with First American CREDCO. In March 2001 I subscribed to their ConfidentialCredit.com product and had pulled several three-in-one reports before I found out that EVERY SINGLE REPORT had incurred a HARD INQUIRY on TRANS UNION. Weirdly, they were soft inquiries on both Experian and Equifax -- but on Trans Union they were hard. At that time I was still very much a newbie and knew nothing about the $1000 statutory damage provision of the FCRA (I wish I had known), but I knew enough to yell loudly. After about four phone calls and two letters, they finally got Trans Union to remove those hard inquiries. At first, they even had the gall to suggest that I simply dispute them with Trans Union directly (which, incidentally, went nowhere as I expected). I despise three-in-one reports for this very reason (although I'm sure somebody somewhere pulls them correctly). Doc
Intersections told me that they were going to send me a letter to send to TU. That should take care of it althought thinking now THEY should send it NOT me. I think this is TU's fault though. When I tryed two weeks ago to dispute it over the phone they insisted that it could be hard because it was not from THEM. . Intersections should be sent a letter from each of us who have had a problem with this and warn that if Tu continues to list our 3-in-1's as a hard inquiry they will loose all business as the word gets out.
Yep, same thing happened here. TU refuse to correct, Intersections told me 3 weeks ago they'd send a letter- still waiting for it...
dang...wish I had known this last week. I got my 3-in-1 from EQ and sure enough, the updated TU that arrived today showed Intersections as a hard inq. BUT!!! That's a small price compared to the 2 deletes I also got!!!
Well I wrote a very strong worded e-mail to Intersections AND to Equifax who advertises them that they should put pressure on Transunion or risk loosing business. This is more than just a simple error. Too many of you have this problem.
