Re: Re: Re: WARNING.......Privacy Guard George: I've been combing through FCRA and can't find a basis for what you said. Can you point me in the right direction ? I'm not arguing your point, I'm just looking for something to quote at them in case I do more than e-mail them about the mess. Thanks
Re: Re: Re: WARNING.......Privacy Guard According to myfico.com..... Note that it's OK to request and check your own credit report. This won't affect your score, as long as you order your credit report directly from the credit reporting agency or through an organization authorized to provide credit reports to consumers. I would say that Privacy Guard is authorized to provide credit reports to consumers, right? Therefore, it should be a soft, not a hard inquiry. ellemnop
Re: Re: Re: WARNING.......Privacy Guard I just got off the phone with PG, as well. They claim that consumerinfo.com is an entirely different company and that it is NOT them. It is strange, all my softs are from the same co. but now today I get nailed with a hard on TU when I pull PG! Consumerinfo.com is a site that DOES exist- my PG login info doesn't work there, though. VERY weird.
Re: Re: Re: Re: WARNING.......Privacy Guard Thanks, noted, ellemnop. Still would like to see some legal authority text that pertains though ! Sorry to be persistent but maybe I'm a little dense and just looking for some security here ! GEORGE !
Re: Re: Re: Re: WARNING.......Privacy Guard I Just pulled my report directly from TU and I have no hards from PG, but each time I pulled from PG is listed as a soft. Here is a paste from my report: The companies listed below obtained information from your consumer report for the purpose of an account review or other business transaction with you. These inquiries are not displayed to anyone but you and will not affect any other creditor's decision or any score. Now keep in mind that the last PG Report I pulled was on 5/02. Maybe this just started happening yesterday? I am scarred to pull my PG report until this is resolved. PS, I find it odd that PG is stating that they are no affiliated with Consumerinfo.com when I have it here in black and white so to speak.
Re: Re: Re: Re: WARNING.......Privacy Guard How does one dispute these hards without a TU report? Is there a number to call other than their regular 800 number? They always ask for your TU report #, wich I do not have. todd
Re: Re: Re: Re: WARNING.......Privacy Guard WILDOGS: Looks to me like it started 5/03. You may want to just wait for that resolution !
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: WARNING.......Privacy Guard I tried to explain to the rep that I had at least a hundred softs that specify Consumerinfo.com as the place pulling my report. The dates coincide EXACTLY as the days I pulled PG. Their response? "I dunno". Great.

I talked to a PG rep and she said they are aware of the situation. She asked for my membership number and said she or someone from PG will contact me as soon as this is resolved. She doesn't think it will take more than 24 hours to get this fixed. Anybody else was told the same thing?
GreatFun.com This is good one... Oh... I don't think I am going to subscribe with them when my CW expire... No PG thank you very much for the great fun...
I just spoke with a rep and I was told to fax in a copy of the my report that shows the inquiry. The fax #307-771-2950 He also indicated to leave a contact number such that someone will get back to you. The Dept. that is investigating this is Privacy Guard Support Service. Hope this helps.
Dangit! PG is giving everybody different answer on how this should get resolved. There are people being told to dispute with Trans Union. Others (including me) are told that it will get fixed and we should wait for them to call us back within 24 hours. Then, others are being asked to send their report and blah blah blah. I have been satisfied with P.G.'s service until these past couple of days. I'm willing to give them another chance if they get this resolved. If they don't, do you guys want to file a class action suit? We can ask them to pay for atty's fees plus other damages.
But it seems these stories are coming from different reps and changing through the day. I agree, the stories should all be identical. However, I'm hoping they get their collective excrement together and have this all figgered out soon so they can fix us up across the board ! FWIW, I'm game for class action if it eventually comes to that !
I have two hards (Sun and Today), my wife has three (Sat, Sun and Today)! It started on Saturday when their website was having troubles! I was able to get a report for my wife processed Saturday, but not for myself, hence I don't have a hard on Saturday! Haven't I read that PG has problems with TU and splitting files? I'm not an IT guy, but I'd bet that they made a and it caused another problem? IT heads should roll!
