They called me, i was out just called them up.

They will close your account if you do not verify on the phone when they call. If you miss the call, closed. You have to call them back and verify that you indeed did apply.

    Odd huh?

Weird they never called me or my fiance and we have used the cards for a little over a month now, no problems.

    Sam,

Did you get your card when they called your card? My brother haven't gotten his card almpst a week now. In my case I got my reader after 4 days after I ordered and got a card from the mail a week from apply. San, did you have Target Card?

Well i called them, they said your cards on the way, but your account is marked closed. Hold on, verifies all info, said welcome to target.

Odd. Guess it may be random spot-check for security.

    FYI,

The standard for the Visa is higher than for the regular Guest Card. If you apply in the store, we need to see your DL, major CC, and know where you lived and how long you have lived there. For the Guest Card we just need you to fill out the app. Target is just trying to C.T.A. for fraud purposes. Personally, I'd be happy they tried to call me to verify.

    Sam,

I haven't gotten their call yet for me or my brother and my brother hasn't received his card and smart card reader almost a week. In my case, they approved all my purchases when I used the card inside Target. I told my brother and myself that don't use too much on the card since the account is new. Some of the creditors may close your account due to heavy usage or large amount of usage.I heard from this board that they need to verify information from him to re-open the accounts.
Sam, did you have Target Card? If you don't have Target Card, they call you to verify that I think.

Yes, That happened to my brother and to myself.

I received the card and activated it. But when I tried to use the card was declined, they had closed my account. I had to fax all my info and finally they reopened the account.

    Geo,

They didn't denied my card purchase yet after I received my card. They haven't asked me anything yet. My brother hasn't received his card and reader almost a week and I'm afraid that they need to verify info with him like you.

I'm on the phone talking to a supervisor "Shannon" right now...

....OK, here's the skinny: Shannon says that I was indeed turned down and that they pulled an Equifax. If I had known my EQ score was 631 on the day I applied, I would have waited. She didn't want to tell me what my score was or any of the specifics and was amazed that (of course) I knew all the specifics because of Score Power at http://myfico.com.

I told her that my score had temporarily dipped due to Christmas high balances and that it would rise again like fresh baked bread later in the month. I told her that my EX was 731 and she said that they could consider that score when they process my official reconsideration. She said that I should wait a week or so to receive my hard copy turn-down letter because her company likes for consumers to have that in hand. She said that if I call at that point, they can reconsider any increase in my EQ and cross reference with EX. She said that I probably won't be disappointed but we'll see. When that time comes, I'll post.

My brother got his Silver Target Visa from the mail today and he hasn't activated and used it yet. By the way, the Silver one looks better than Red One.Someone from this board from the mail doesn't mean anything and they can block your card from using it. They may ask you additional info from you.

My brother activated his Silver Target Visa and he made a purchase on the card. They instantly approved his purchase without any problems.
