And when Discover's "0.0% APR until July 2002" offer flashed on my screen, I applied for the Platinum. Was approved online 1 minute later. When I called, the rep said the application is approved alright, but they need a few more days to set the credit limit (?) The question is: Should I close the account as soon as the intro period is over (7/2002), or can I contact Mr. Brice Brown and actually get a reasonable CC deal ("go to" rate), to offset their 2-cycle billing? Saar
Saar, Congratulations! I just applied for same card and got DENIED, they couldn't give me a reason said it would be mailed in 7-10 days, I don't understand why my score is now 729 eq and thats who they pulled I checked, there are 0 negs on that report and my balances are all low. mindy
Sorry about that, Mindy. Due to the Citibank-CRA update delay, my current reports suggest that I have an unusually high debt ratio, which I don't. Can't say what my FICO score is, but it's well below yours. Which leads me to believe Discover have their own proprietary scoring model. Saar
Discover's approval/disapproval conditions are weird. I have yet to figure it out. Congratulations on the Discover card, Saar. Dani
Tell me about it..gave my Vietnam vet uncle a discover plat card and he doesn't even have a job...just a check...Now that's quirky.
Congrats Saar!! Don't you want to keep the account open for at least one year? Rumor has it that FICO points are given at the 1 year interval. You may get more low apr. BT offers. A colleague gets them. Jim
