I applied for a WAMU account tonight, and the guy says they check a "D Checks" report to verify history. I asked was this a CHEX report? He said no, but he said I was approved...

Anybody heard of the "D CHECKS" report before?

I've posted a contact before,... "Regina", a Sr. mgr. at 404-249-7121. I stumbled accross her in a chat room. She can open accounts in any state in the USA. She will NOT run your credit, she WILL run chex systems. You can get a completely free checking account with a visa check card ATM and free online access. They also have $5/month unlimited online bill pay.

actually, the online application system, they will pull a "SOFT" inquiry on experian. They will scrutinize every detail. I was denied because my current address was not 2 yrs old. hmph.

But in the branches, they pull chex.

    Talk about inconsistent policy.

Btw when i was denied i got a letter saying they checked equifax. They did not, they did a softie on experian...

I just got an insert in my daughters account statements and one of the changes is charging their customers 1.50 for each 1000.00 dep/wd/exchanged etc. Geez. What exactly is their job if not to help their customers? I've heard of doing this type of transaction for businesses, but this didn't specify anyone. I'm just so glad I've closed all my accounts there. I know it's not smart to carry too much cash around, but from working at a bank before, I was always surprised how many people still deal with just cash. A lot more than you would think. Just the idea of charging people who deal with cash...it just seems wrong imo.

Hey New - :) I don't get charged for deposits?
    Can you clarify the statement?

    Many thanks - dogman

    Hey Sam!

Hope you have been doing great! BUT, I was just sorry to hear about your poor experience with WAMU - but the information was helpful!!!!

I opened in the branch...they didn't have online enrollment then (or anyone else)...so the equifax/experien comments were informative.

Some of these large companies do not have coordinated systems....MINE INCLUDED!

    Re: Hey Sam!

I've had a wash mutual acct. since 1996. I went into the branch to a letter notarized. They said it costs $10 now to notarize. I was like, "what!"

I am looking for another bank to go to. They may hae "free" checking but they charge you for everything else.

There's nothing wrong with getting the "everything else" somewhere else... but the completely free checking? A very good deal. Many large supermarket chains now offer free notary service at the customer service counter

    Re:

The insert I got stated they will charge $1.50 per each $1000 that you dep/wd/exchange. They also will be charging if you bring in rolled coin.

Ka-ching, ka-ching, they gotta get their money from somewhere. Free checking is at a lot of places now but I'm still not being charged for taking my rolled coins in!

    BTW-my accounts were in CA.

My bank said they will take ONLY "NON ROLLED COINS"...they put it in the counting machine...AND you MUST deposit it in your savings or checking...NO FEE.
