Hey guys I have been looking for a way to dispute my Providian charge off, I have already tried not mine and as you know know providian always verifies. As I was looking at my EX report, I noticed there is no DOLA, so ex cannot tell we when it charged off or when it will fall off.

On EQ it also has chargeoff but no DOLA

Transunion has it as pays as agreed (I need that one, it is positve, so I am not touching it)

Okay I know that EX and EQ are wrong for not reporting a complete record which makes it inaccurate. I am looking for the fastest course to deletion. Any ideas. This one would be a major victory for me.

    Thanks everyone

I have an account that I disputed with providan as not mine, and yes they did verify. I'm going to wait until the holidays because I noticed that on my report the date open is 6-1997, but being report 10-1995. How can something be reported before it was even opened? I'm going to try and dispute the date opened during the holidays and see what happens. I would check your report, just to see if there is anything that you can use other than not mine. I didn't notice this until after it came back verified. I hope I've kinda answered your question. If not sorry, but that's just how I have it listed on my CR. I'll post and update everyone during the holiday season to let you know how it went.

Oooops, I was confusing Providan with First Premier. LOL. Ok, I have a disputed pending with them right now, disputed the date open. I'm not sure what's going to happen. Would be a great victory for me as well if I can get it off of my report. I will let you know.

I am 2 for 3 in having Providian deleted from my reports. I went back and looked for the reasons:

    1. CRA #1 disputed past due status - deleted tradeline
    2. CRA #2 disputed as "most owed" wrong - deleted tradeline
    3. CRA #3 - in dispute, pending

I did notice that both of the first two deletions came fairly recently. Maybe they are flooded and just can't get to them. I would keep trying. These were basically very minor errors that I disputed.

    kbanger,
Check if Experian reports recent payment as $0. They do usually. It's inaccurate. $0 is not a payment. Your last payment was higher than $0. Or if anything is reported as NA. It's inaccurate too. Try that way.

    kbanger,

Also check how is balance history reported. If they have skipped some months and they are unable to provide you with 100% accurate information for that tradeline then they must remove it completelly.

Platinum it reports the type/terms/monthly payment as Revolving/NA/$0 and the recent balance as NA.

Status: Transferred/Account charged off. $XXX written off.

It was sold to the Credit Store in truth.

Platinum, this I should not dispute this online, I should write a letter for this huh? If so would you happen to have a letter for it? Thanks so much.

I was hoping to do the same with FCNB, but the only NA is for terms, everything else is there and correct.

    kbanger,

Recent balance can not be reported as NA. It might be $0, $10, $100, $1000 whatever but never NA. That's your ground for dispute. Hopefully they will never find out what is your recent balance. Then you insist on deletion. You can do first dispute online. If it comes back as verified then you may send them letter explaining that their reporting is incomplete and inaccurate and you want every single item to be reported correctly or deleted according to the FCRA.

I know this will probably be a stupid questions, but........

In your online dispute, you select "other". When it gives you the opportunity to give the reason, you type what? That "there is no such thing as an N/A balance." Or, "I never had an account with XXX, Acct #xxx, with a balance of N/A." I think this is a great way to dispute, just want to make sure that I am understanding.

    Recent balance= incorrect
    Recent payment= incorrect

They know that it must be a dollar amount- not NA.
