I hate to brag but I am so proud!!!

I logged onto Credit Expert a few minutes ago and I fell off my chair. Score: 713!!! That represents a score growth of just under 300 points in 8 months of score building and error correction! For the past 9 days, Credit Expert was showing a "0" score because of what their tech people said was a glitch in the system.

The latest jump of 25 points was caused by the appearance of a B of A visa AU with a 6 year history of R1 and a credit limit of $65,000, current balance $20,133. My girlfriend added me over the phone as an AU the day after Christmas. Halleluyah!

I'm excited to death because all 3 CRAs are still reporting a discharged chapter 7 BK, and beacuse of hard times in the last 60 days, ALL of my credit cards (all subprime) are charged to their max. AND my address is a mail boxes etc. address that causes hawk alerts, fraud alerts, etc.

First thing Wed. morning I will pay all my credit cards down to $5 balances which will certainly boost my score by another 20-40 points.

My Trans Union score is looking pretty too. Hopefully in another week my Equifax score will have climbed a little more.

As soon as my scores climb one more lick, and my Equifax catches up, I'll muster up the nerve to apply for those famous CitiAA cards and the Amex LOC.

Rina, I see your numbers are similar to mine. Do you consider yourself prime right now? What kinds of credit do you now have with your scores at the point that they are? All of the open credit I have is subprime. Only the one AU account and 2 old closed accounts of mine are prime. I still have a discharged 7 on all 3 reports, you may not have ever filed a BK. Any ideas about credit I should apply for at this point?

    Congratulations!!!

You are an inspiration.....300 pts. in 8 months! WOW!!!

I'm a member of the 500 club Exp 580 Eqx 630. So, don't have any advice on what cards to apply for. Why don't you search under - prime, cards, scores? Or use a combo. of words.

    Just a suggestion.

    What are my next moves?!

Thank you for the suggestion betacredit, but I have been reading and reading and reading this board for a few months now. I was a lurker for many months before I ever posted. I have learned a lot, but I am hoping for some direct advice from some of those that seem to be very confident about how to proceed.

I am in subprime hell right now myself. I can get any subprime card now. In the grand scheme of things that is progress not too long ago they were saying no. Your stunning increase is an inspiration. I am shooting for 700's within the next 6 months start date was Dec 28.

Any tips for those new to the game?

I have begun the process of writing a "tell all" book. I happen to work for a major television network and I was in the right place at the right time when a publisher needed a book that addressed this subject. It might be complete now if weren't for the new NextGen scores. I got hold of the new NextGen reason codes to study thanks to http://creditscoring.com. In another six to eight weeks or so, I should have my completed book, we'll see. The publisher is pressuring me to hurry because the topic is red hot. I will see to it that a limited number of the books are available free of charge to CreditNet members. I'll probably want to interview certain CreditNet members to include their stories in the book.

In the meantime, I would advise all to be sure to get your income and/or cash flow in order before you embark on a dramatic score building adventure. You've got to be able to charge your credit cards up to the brink without going over the limit then you must be able to pay all bills early and you must be able to pay your credit cards down to a $5 balance.

    I see-

I just started my own business Sept 10 of all days. So far I have been progressing very well. I strongly feel 2002 is going to be a great income year for me.

Charge up to the limit and pay off quick.

    idea-

take out a cash advance and rotate the money through your cards. [yes i know you will occur ca fees]

    EX:

    pull 1000 from card one
    place money in bank

send check/online payment in a week or so
    repeat 2-3 times a month

*not to mention your CC company will become accustomed to you making large inroads on your credit limit i.e. no embrassing decline on a large purchase! LOL

just an ideal for those whose income is not that great
credit really is amount money management. I have seen a lot of people with little income with large cl and a few folks with large income and can't get credit.

has anyone employed this method with any success?
    feedback please.

I have always stayed away from doing cash advances. One way or another, they are trouble. You pay large daily fees and if you do a lot of cash advances you are considered a security risk to the loss prevention department of the bank that issued your card.

    Some ideas:

Make any and all purchases for any and everything that you might use checks or cash for through your credit cards. Even groceries. Use the cash to pay the bills quickly.

If someone you know needs to make a large purchase for themeselves or their business with cash or a check, get them to give you the cash and you charge the item. BEWARE of the possibility that any personal or business check you receive from anyone could bounce as much as 3 months later.

If you've got big basket balls, go to a fine furniture retailer and charge as much furniture as your limits can stand. 3 rooms of furniture in some places can easily run $10-20,000. They will give you a delivery date 1-2 weeks away. Go back in 2 days later and cancel your order. All those credits will post back to your credit cards.

    Thanks!

I had no ideal of the loss prevention department policy. Generally I do that , I suppose I can start paying my home&cell phone bills by credit card-

Don't go public till I get my mess cleaned up.

If you do it will tend to kill the process as the powers that be get wise!

Good point, but I think we're dealing with the police radar-radar detector syndrome here. We all got on top of the FICO system, they are now coming out with the NextGen score. We'll conquer that, they'll come out with something else.

Anyway, don't worry. I've got to get all the way up to 800 myself before I'm satisfied to go public. That'll take awhile I'm sure. And furthermore, I just got rejected today for 3 different apps. That's 3 more hard inquiries, I've got plenty more research to do.

I wee-haaa-ed when I saw the scores climb over 700, but it would be nice if I could get approved for something.
