I checked my TransUnion report today and found this inquiry on my file. I pulled worthknowing.com and it only showed I had three hard inquiries, so I'm not sure if this is counted as a soft or what. It is listed under the regular inquiries section.

Individual ADP SCREENING & SELECTIO Via:**USERNAME Permissible Purpose = EMPLOYMENT

I don't know what it's for. I just got a new job in early August, but it's at a gas station! I don't know who the hell would have pulled this. Any thoughts?

    ADP does do employment screenings--http://nas.adp.com/solutions/Selections/

I would call and ask about it.

It is for your job. I would contact your employer to ascertain the proof you need that they did indeed pull your credit, in case there is some kind of fraud...but I would bet it is for your new job.

You handle cash at your gas station? They want to know how likely you will be to join the dark side.

Congratulations on the new Job matty. Good Luck!

ADP is a payroll and human resources company. Almost definitely associated with the new job.

Definitely. ADP pulls my credit (sigh) every year.

They "say" it doesn't effect scores, employment inquiry. It still seems to count when my only inquiry in 6months is ADP Selection & Processing, and a reason code is "Too many recent inquiries."

I've fought and fought with our HR droids, try to get them to pull a soft, told em I'd even bring them a report if they're so interested--no dice.

Anyhow, congrats on the job, I'd bet money the inquiry is kosher.
