I just noticed today that my Amex account has also disappeared. It had 0 impact on my score (actually, may have dropped 3 points as I didn't look at my actual report in the past few days). I did just get a credit limit increase yesterday ($1k) so I hope they get that back on my report soon. Has anyone else noticed that their Amex reported has returned? How long did it take?
I just checked my Experian report and the Amex tradeline is completely gone. My score plummeted. Instead of 75% of available credit I am at 56%. Ugh! I haven't checked my Equifax and TU reports yet. Are they missing off those, too? It's one thing if it a hidden tradeline (which I wouldn't mind), but only reporting to one or two bureaus isn't going to help me. Dani
What is going on? Why report on two bureaus, instead of all 3? Or just delete the tradeline entirely on all three. Did Experian and Amex get in a fight? Has anyone called to ask? If not, I will. I am just totally ticked that my score dropped almost 20 points just because of the deletion of one account. A three year old account, too. Geez, they're all idiots. Dani
Yes, my Amex is still on EQ and TU as well. My available credit stayed at 99%, so losing it didn't hurt or hurt much, but I would like to know why they are disappearing. I have heard that Amex was having EXP "issues", but what those are I have no idea. No one else is having "issues".
I've now seen 6 Experian reports where Amex totally vanished. This is not a limited occurance. The only person I saw who really got hurt was a 19 year old who was an AU on his parents' Amex. His score dropped almost 50 points! Through some weird quirk of scoring, mine stayed exactly the same. Most of the other people got a small increase. Has anyone gotten a definitive explanation from Amex about what is going on?
I called Amex and asked them to update my account info with all the CB's since I have recently paid the entire balance off and the old information was having a negative impact due to credit utilization %. My Amex account information with EXP had not been updated since Jan 2002. It looks like when they "updated" my AmEx disappeared off of my EXP report. TU and EQ are still okay. I'm going to watch it through a couple more billing cycles and see if it reappears. Stay tuned...
fiance's was May 6th, but I can't remember if the account fell off before or after that date. Mine is coming up again on May 19th. You might be on to something.
My last close date on my Amex account was Monday, which was about the time it disappeared. I got a CL increase on Tuesday, I hope that triggers them to report again with the updated CL.
American Express was not reporting my recent balance of zero on my Amex gold card to Experian because the date last reported on my 05/01/02 Experian credit report was 01/02. I disputed the amount with Experian about two weeks ago by phone. Experian made my account disappear. I called Amex's credit bureau unit at (954-503-3787) and they said they would have their computer add the account information back but not until the normal monthly update. I asked and they said you can get to this unit for free by calling the regular help number (800-327-2177) and ask to be transferred. Maybe Amex isn't paying their bill with Experian?
