Would they denied me if I send cashier check or money order in application instead of personal check? Any experience?

Expect anything with Wells Fargo Secured card. I bumped my thread "You Know You Have Bad Credit When..." forward so you could see what I went through applying for Wells fargo's Secured card.

    Good Luck, you'll need it.

    Maybe yes, maybe no...

Does it state that they require a check in order to prove that you have a valid checking account?

If there is a number to call to ask questions, call and ask them. They are the only ones who can tell you for certain.

If they only request a check for payment, and not to provide proof that you have a valid checking account, then a certified check / money order shouldn't be a problem.

Usually the application (at least the ones that I have seen) will have a notice on it if they require that the customer have a valid checking account in order to open an account.

If you have a wells fargo account, they can just transfer the funds that way. If you don't have an account, a Cashier's Check or Money Order should be fine as long as it shows your name as the remitter. Wells wants to be sure that it is YOU supplying the funds for your card, not someone else.

Thanks for answers!!! Since I don't have checking acc at this point, maybe I should wait with this app, unless I could send my sister check ... I could write in memo on the check my name, wright?

It looks they want personal check onlu, since I don't see in app any option for cashier check or MO ... Could I go with my sister personal check?

Actually, I've seen some posts, saying that is better if I send money order or cashier check, instead of personal check. Is this true?

I would send a money order or cashier's check that shows your name as the remitter. This shows that YOU are securing the funds.

If you gave your sister the funds to put into her account, then according to the BANK, she is securing the funds, not you. (Trust me on this, I had a customer issue with this about a year ago.)

However, you can always call and ask. 800-642-4720.

At what point if any does the card become unsecured?

Thanks a lot David. I'm going to send money order then. I was insecure sending mo, since I would not have any proof in case they lost it, or if it lost by mail.
