Howdy, folks! My first dispute, and my first failure, how sad. I disputed online with EXP a 30-day late for an Express card and another for The Limited card (both from April 2003), and both came back verified. Bah humbug. I had hoped that since it was just one, teensy-weensy 30-day, they would let it go, but I see that I was wrong. Perhaps I should have waited until after April of this year to dispute it. Has anyone else had any experience with this company (geez, they own half the stores in a typical mall)--disputing, goodwill, whatever? Any words would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,
Oh, geez, pay no attention to that last post. PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS POST, the duplicate one only has the title, and not the body of the post. Maybe this is a sign... I should leave WFNNB alone! Nah! Thanks again!
I did dispute a Service Merchandise account with them. Initially, they sent a letter saying they would delete the requested items. One of their depts even said they were deleting the items. However, after the changes did not occur after a couple of months they transferred me to a dept that actually handled the credit bureau stuff. That person told me that they don't delete accurate info. Whatever. So I finally just gave up on me. The info they had on me was so old anyway(it will be falling off our reports in a couple of months). Anyway, best of luck to you. Hope you have better luck dealing with them than I did....
I had a Victoria's Secret account (thru WFNNB) that showed a 30 day late. Mind you I was only a couple of days late but they insisted 1 day late is considered 30. I disputed that until the credit bureaus refused to investigate anymore. I called WFNNB insistent I was never late and they did not have the right to report me late for 2 lousy days. They insisted they could and there is nothing they would do about it. AFter going through this for a couple of years I finally sent a letter via Planetfeedback. I told them how I was only a couple of days late one time and this entry was really damaging my credit score. I told them how I have been a customer for 7 years and had never made a late payment besides this one. I asked them to please, as a goodwill gesture, remove the delinquency. They sent me back a letter saying that although they have every right to report me late, 1 day is like 30, etc. that they did see I was a good customer and removed the delinquency. That may be your only chance. THey are real sticklers!!!
1-30=30 DAYS 31-60=60 DAYS 61-90=90 DAYS 91-120=120 DAYS 1 DAY LATE or 7 or 29 ALL ARE REPORTED AS 30 DAYS BECAUSE THE "PROGRAM" DOES NOT HAVE 7 DAYS LATE IN IT IT SAYS THE CUSTOMER WAS LATE...WAS THE CUSTOMER 30-60-90-120 DAYS LATE??? 7 CAN NOT BE THE ANSWER!!! "IF" the law can be changed...that would "FIX" the problem... You can attack it from the 100% ACCURATE ANGLE... 30 DAYS LATE IS NOT ACCURATE!!!
