What CC's use ONLY EQ as a source?

The Equifax lady was nice enough (w/o me even asking) to investigate all my derogs --

Someone on the board was telling me that now is the time to apply for a CC that onlys pulls EQ CR's....

Anyone know why? Will this really work?

Anyone know which card I may be able to qualify for using this strategy? How do you know which CA the CC's use???

Please help! If this can work, I only have 15 more days till the investigation is up!

    THANKS!!!

EQ actually follows the law and temporarily puts the account in dispute. In that time frame the account is in limbo, and its as if its not there. That will cause your score to rise if all the negatives are in dispute at once. EQ is the only CRA that follows that aspect of the law. Charlie

So, which CC co's actually ONLY pull Eq????

Does Cap One? If so, I may actually have a shot when they process my appl. to get an UNSECURED card!!!!

Anyone know of CC's to try for that only rely on EQ?

Please, anyone who is considering this method it can backfire. What happens if your disputes are verified? Does anyone think that the credit card you applied for and was approved for is not going to look at your report ever again? What happens if they pull TU instead of EQ? Nothing is guaranteed.
Another concern is once you're approved for the card and are carrying a balance the CCC could can back and raise your interest rate or lower your CL. What do you do then?

This is not meant to be a lecture, but seriously consider looking before leaping.

Dani, I agree that it can backfire somewhat, but ness62 has no credit cards and a prime card even with a high % is better than an Aspire or Providian. If the CC is used for a positive tradeline and keep your balances low I see no problem going that way. prime witha high % is a lot better than a subprime witha high% and all the fees. Charlie

Can someone tell me what card to apply for then?

I only want one card, it's not as if I am looking to get 10 new CC's -- Like Charlie said, I have NONE right now (secured or otherwise) so even if the rate is high its better than NOT having one at all...I need to rebuild credit!

Believe me, before I stopped paying Discover, after a few late pays, my interest was @ 22.9%!!! I am not too concerned with that as I am not planning to use the CC's for major purchases -- Just a couple of hundred bucks/month, and paid in full....I just want to rebuild -- Not max out cards....

    Charlie,

I understand your reasoning (and agree with it) my concern is that seeing the new negative information on her CR (if it comes back verified) the CCC could very well close her account. They usually increase the interest rate or lower the CL, but if we're referring to a significant amount of negative information they may retract and cancel the account. Just something to think about and consider.

I have a friend that is about to do it. She has NO CC's, and she was about to sign up withe 1st Premier. I told her that the mass EQ dispute may work, but I can't get a firm company that pulls only EQ in Texas. I have asked the ? in a thread or two without a definite company, and millcbs isn't much help. Charlie

In Virginia EQ is all they pull. :( Six inquiries on EQ, 0 on TU, 0 on Experian. I'll see what I can find out for you.

I'm in NY, by the way....

Also, when I got my EQ and Ex CR's, I see they both have the same inquiries listed....I think here in NY they usa all 3 CRA's =o[ Oh well.....

I called CapOne to get status on the appl. -- I got approved for a secured card Whoppee, big deal =o[

So I guess I'm not bothering with any others...I am just going to wait till next month and apply for the Orchard Bank MC --I think 2 CC's is enough for now, right?

    Charlie,

Comparing this board, as well, as the millcbs site it seems that Target pulls Equifax almost continuously. Juniper also pulls Equifax (3 out of 3), Household (3 out of 4), and Bank of America (1 out of 1).

Does your friend have bad credit or no credit? Usually the Target card is pretty easy to get and Household is pretty easy as long as you do not have any BKs.

    Hope this helps.

    Ness,

Have you tried Target yet? I know it's not a major credit card, but they seem to pull EQF all over the country, as well as, in NY. They usually set the CL around $200, but it is an unsecured card and can help you to re-establish credit. Amex also seems to pull EQF 4 out of 5 times. Depending on your score you could try for Green. There is an annual fee and the card must be paid in full each month, but it is a prime card and reports to all 3 CRAs, plus Amex is a great company.

    Good luck.

NY is a big TU state, their is an affiliete in that state.

    Target Visa pulls EQU, solely.

I don't even shop in Target.....

Anyway...My Eq score, before I cleared anythign (I dont know what it is now) is 488. I dont think AMEX will approve me for that, will they?

Where can I find the BofA and Hosehold card applications?

Okay, I just found a board with the CRA and CC chart -- It says target pulls EXPERIAN...I just applied and that is no good if they pull EXPERIAN, not EQ (as some previously said)....

Anyway, it also listed First Union, Household, Juniper as only pulling EQ....How accurate is this????

And according to that list, AMEX will pull EX too, not EQ....Can someone give me some advice here??? I am confused....Thanks!

    Dani--
Are you tryign to say that 3 out 0f 3 times, Juniper pulls Eq? And 3out of 4 times Household pulls EQ? I am confused....

    Thanks!

    Ness,

My reply to Charlie was for Texas, not nationwide. Juniper is the only CCC that pulls EQU time and time again, but you need kick a$$ credit to get it. Target and Household usually pull Equifax, but nothing is guaranteed.

ness62, It is confusing. I tried Target and they pulled EQ and I was hoping for EX. I don't put much stock in millcbs. I think they have a great concept, but it just doesn't work properly. If millcbs would link up with creditnet and maybe some other boards there would be a lot more data compiled. I think Sears Mastercard pulls EQ primarily. Now that i've said that they'll pull TU. I asked the ? a few times and didn't get any input. Charlie
