When applying for a Generations Bank Credit Card what CRA do they pull a report from? I'm located in NJ. Thanks
from what i can see from www.millcbs.com they almost always pull from transunion, and i see a pull from TU in new hampshire and virginia, which are both close to you. briana
Thanks How hard is Generations to get? For more information on my situation see my other thread. http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&pgnum=1&postid=218565#post218565
Don't know if this applies to you but Generations has a disclaimer about not giving a card limit for beyond a certain percentage of your income. I read this to apply to all your cards being taken into consideration along w/ what they might offer you. I don't know your income and total CLs. (Don't worry, you don't have to tell me.) I thought you might want to review this on their site before you applied not to waste the inq. if you were already above their limits. They say no exceptions to this rule but some Generations card holders may be able to say different.
Called and spoke to a rep. Credit Utilization needs to be below 33% and I believe she said to get the good APR you had to be at 660 or above. She also told me they check Transunion. They are NOT like other companies, secretive with the criteria!
They pulled transunion for me in NY. I was denied because my score was 628 and they wanted 650. The rep told me when my score reached 650 to try back. I emailed the rep when my score hit 663 and they still denied me because of past delinquent accounts from 2 + years ago. To tell you the truth I would not reapply to them ever again just for the reason that they misled me into another hard inquiry for no reason. From the time they originally saw my credit I had 6 derogs and they made me feel that if my score was higher they would have given me the account. Then when they looked at it the second time I had four deletions and the higher score. This was in a matter of 45 days from the original app. Anyway I think there initial rate is something like 21% for people with the bare minimum score they require. Oh well, I can smell a citicard in my near future.
