What CRA provides consumer's with the real FICO SCORE? and their prices? I went to Experian but can't find anything that says FICO. =)
Experian does not offer FICO to consumers, the only way to get Exp FICO is to have a creditor pull it.
Re: ===What CRA Provide the REAL FI Here is my experience I got a "3 in 1 report" from True Credit. I found that equifax had the LEAST information on my and found that their report was the LEAST useful, conversly I found transunion had the most information on me and their report the most useful. My vote is for Transunion. The Equifax "credit score" ( not really a fico score) was 620 and Transunions advertised "FICO" score was 644. Hope this helps Julie
Re: ===What CRA Provide the REAL FI There can be a BIG gap in your Transunion scores though. When they send you a report you get a Horizon Alert score (I think that's what's it's called). When a creditor pulls a report they get the Empirica. In my experience the Empirica is 30-40 points LOWER. The Beacon / FICO / Empirica are credit scoring systems used by the big 3 credit bureaus. Empirica Score = Transunion Beacon Score = Equifax Fair Issac or FICO = Experian formerly TRW Beacon Fico Empirica scores range from 400 to 850 The average American has a Beacon Fico score of 720 First rate banks want a Beacon Fico score of at least 640 Second chance banks want a Beacon Fico score of 540 or higher
Re: Re: ===What CRA Provide the REAL FI EQUIFAX IS A F.I.C.O. SCORE TRANS UNION IS A F.A.C.O. SCORE (UNLESS YOU BUY THE F.I.C.O. SCORE)~~must be purchased for a FEE...NEVER the free score...
Re: ===What CRA Provide the REAL FI phantom, Now you have me lost more than before !!!! Do you mean the Equifax number is more reliable even tho their information is the least accurate??? If so I will focus on Equifax to correct me errors. thanks Julie
Re: Re: ===What CRA Provide the REAL FI Julie, I don't think you understand completely how all this works. You can't just focus on one credit report to correct errors. If you do that, what will happen when a creditor decides to pull one of the other 2 reports? They will still show all the negative info that was deleted from the one report. What you need to do is order all 3 reports from each cra individually. Then you will know exactly what is on each report and can dispute the entries accordingly. And, George is absolutely correct when he said that Equifax is a true Fico score. Trans Union's score is the Fico ONLY if you purchased it with a report for $12.95
Re: Re: ===What CRA Provide the REAL FI No, you need to address all 3 reports. The info on your reports is going to vary. Some creditors report to Equifax and Experian but not Transunion, some Transunion and Equifax, or any combination. All 3 bureaus use a scoring system that creditors rely on but they have different names (and scoring models). They are all equally important to you (with the exception of the FAKO from TU). You can go to the myfico.com site and order your true FICO score (which will be your Equifax score). You can also go to Experian and order your score for that bureau. Transunion has two scores - one you will see on the boards described as FAKO (which will be the higher one) and the other is the Empirica which creditors pull. My Transunion was the least accurate when I started pulling reports. They put me in the system when I was married so my 15 years of credit history before that was not included. My score that they sent me on the report is 672 however my bank just pulled TU and the score is only 642. Of course, the 642 is the important one. My advice is to pull all three reports and scores if you haven't already. This way you'll know what you're up against and can dispute from there. Make sense?
Re: Re: ===What CRA Provide the REAL FI The Beacon and Empirica scores are also produced by Fair-Isaac.
