What Creditnet taught me re:life

Is anyone else experiencing this..I'm so much more effective in dealing with all my concerns...situations.

For instance, daughter needed a transcript ASAP and was getting the run around. I showed her how to effectively work with the people, stuff I've acquired from working with creditors and CRA's, and she had it in 10 minutes (faxed!) They told her they couldn't get her into loan counseling for student loans for school until 10-27-01 and it meant she couldn't enroll. We found an email for a supervisor and mailed it yesterday. She had a phone call today and the new date is 9-4-01.

Planetfeedback has opened the door for much more than just credit issues. I now complain there and have many situations handled that were not totally credit related. I've received apology letters from managers, etc. And, some free stuff (bad hotel stay during last trip got us 2 free nights to use anytime in the mail today). They were legitimate complaints and Planetfeedback is making a huge difference.

I'm amazed at how much more power I feel I have now. I'm not afraid to go up the ladder for any reason and it almost always works...whether credit or otherwise.

This is completely amazing. The best part is that I'm teaching my kids the skills I'm learning and they are going to be better off for it.

Again, all the sitautions are legitimate concerns but life is a bit better for the knowledge I've gained here.
    Thank you all!

    Nana,

I agree with you 100%. I also have to give credit to my husband as well as this board. I have learned from my husband not to take any sh**! This board has taught me not just crawl under a rock for the next 7-10 years because I filed and was discharged from my Chapter 7 BK. The members of the board will take you under their wing and hold your hand in approaching credit manners.

Planet Feedback, what an invaluable resource! I use them also whenever I can.

Look at the "love" I received from my credit union today after I felt neglected and wrote the CEO an e-mail yesterday evening. (See B Bauer's post about banks.)

I just sent a certified/RR letter to Household Retail Services today. They are reporting my discharged Chapter 7 accounts as Chapter 13 with a status of debt adj. That was a biggie. A 15 page correspondence including documentation that they were filed as Chapt 7. (Went the dispute route through CRA, no go.) I had no choice but to deal directly with them. No correct, file lawsuit!

    The possibilities are endless!

    My thanks as well.

And, you know, I remember once thinking that not taking any sh** meant having to get mad. I'm so happy you brought this up..cuz now I know it doesn't mean that at all, it just means refusing to take anything but the solution you know is right! :) Ok, sometimes I get mad, but just when it suits my purpose! LOL

    Nana,
It's funny that you mention this. I just dealt with a Dental Insurance snafu. My daughter has braces and they put on her lowers in May. Apparently my husbands insurance merged (Pru with Aetna) and somehow my daughters coverage was erroneously "dropped." It took a crane to get it all straightened out between all the parties involved (his ins, my ins co., the dentist office billing rep, the dentist office manager, his human resources dept., and us). After dozens of faxes all is well now. Had it not been for CreditNet I'm not convinced I would have gotten it all taken care of. I have always hated "paper work" and have in the past paid insurance bills that I probably wouldn't have had to if I had stayed on the case. Being a creditnetter has changed my style and no one is getting a penny more than they are entitled to. I am going to make sure my family gets all of the benefits our employers offer us.

Isn't it wierd...these are life skills...not just credit skills. Gotta love it!

I had to deal with a similar situation last year. My company changed Dental Coverage Providers and during the "interim" period my dentist submitted a bill to the new insurer instead of the old. The new insurer had a higher "allowed charge" which is why I think this was done. Once the claim was denied they resubmitted to the old insurer and were paid only the old allowed amount.

My dentist accepts the allowed amount as full payment but his billing office tried to bill me for the remainder and I refused to pay - finally getting them to zero the balance.

The work done was an extraction - I simply told them - "You received the allowed amount, if it is not adequate and you want more, please schedule an appointment to have my wisdom tooth reinserted. "
