Regarding my Paid CO AMEX Corp Card - I was just going through my files, and found a letter from AMEX after I had a conversation with them back in October 2004. The dimwit CSR that I spoke with got my request all wrong and I filed the letter away.

My initial request was to get them to write a letter stating the paid date, which they never gave me - THIS is what I got:

    Dear IH8DEBT:

This letter serves to confirm our recent telephone conversation. your American Express account has been cancelled per you request and has a zero balance.

If you have any questions regarding this matter, or if we can be of further assistance, please contact us at our 24-hour, toll-free customer service number.

    Sincerely,

    AMEX (I have actual signature)

Do you think that if I send this letter in with a letter requesting the tradeline be changed from "Account Closed by Credit Grantor" to "Closed at Consumers Request" it will work?

    thanks!!

Jenz - I have my letters all filled out - and I'm going to send to TU and EQ. Is this something that I should send certified? Just wondering if I can challange them to remove it in case they don't change the status in 30 days? I never did a DV with the CRA via mail..only online.

    Thanks!

IMO you could always send the first time NOT CMRRR and then if you have issues, send the next round CMRRR.

Sounds like a plan - I'll mail them out tomorrow and see what happens. I'll post about it as soon as I find out.
