I've seen the advice on here over and over, but haven't really seen any explanation as to what specifically it does or how it works to the consumers advantage. I saw someone mention that negative TL's will sometimes drop off because it severs ties with TL's that have old addresses, but how does that work? Doesn't a dispute have to be initialted for the process to be completed? Also, if this severs ties with negative TL's, what effect does it have on positive TL's?
it helps when collection companies do "skip tracing" it also helps when applying for mortgages, some lenders will want to know why you 1234 fast lane on your credit report when you say you live at 1234 mulberry. otherwise it doesnt affect your score.
