EQUIFAX 9/17/2001 Citibank SD (na) 9/05/2001 Citibank SD (na) 8/16/2001 Citibank S.D. The 9/17 is for the gold, the 9/05 is successful reconsideration for silver, and the 8/16 was the initial silver denial. Does anyone know why 2 say na? Does this mean I am the only person who can see it? (crosses fingers) Steph
Ugh! I know it, it's on the tip of my tongue! I'm pretty sure it just has to do with the bank name. It's nothing major. It's on other statements of mine too like FUSA. I'm going to go crazy till I remember what it stands for.
Pretty sure National Association, but not 100%. All you have to do is look at lists of different banks. A lot of them have the N.A. after their name. Big banks and little ones too. B of A, FUSA, Citibank, Mbna, Household etc......
I will repeat myself: is na some kind of soft inquiry. And yes, I was. Now I have a silver and gold AA combined into platinum select and a platinum world mastercard. Total $10K credit. And a $5000 LOC with AMEX. Stephanie
Stephanie, Did you do all this in one call with same rep? I am doing the same just waiting on cards..Thanx na = not avaible = investigate it and have it removed LoL wish itt was that easy
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION...100% POSITIVE... I WRITE A CHECK TO U.S. BANK NATIONAL ASSOCIATION ND (THE ND IS NORTH DAKOTA)
IT means North America. My student loan was from Citibank NA and I asked the lady what it meant. She said North America. Also for wire transfers to AMerican Express you send it to Wells Fargo NA and that again means North America. If NA follows a bank name it means North America.
THEN WHY DO I WRITE A CHECK TO U.S. BANK "NATIONAL ASSOCIATION" ND??? THEY SAY TO WRITE IT THAT WAY!!!
I asked a rep several years ago when I first acquired my cc, she said it stands for NATIONAL ALLIANCE. Obviously, were all getting different replies but I just make my check out to CITIBANK OR CITI. They accept it.
Why don't you just call and ask them yourself. Obviously other banks use the same abbreviation but it may not mean the same thing.
